Sorry guys not quite sure how to put photos on here yet, but will work out soon. Kids are now back at school and loving it!! (really). Both are due to go to new schools next year, Luke to junior school (3rd grade) and AJ to secondary school (junior high). We (or should I say I) have had to apply for AJ to go to a Christian High school about 8 miles away, we have also had to complete another form for our local education authority to apply to this school and also her 2nd choice, a school about 2 miles away. The kids are back at all their after school activities, dancing, gymnastics, riding, piano, dancing and of course swimming!!! Last weekend we went to the next village to ours (Padfield) to something called the Plum Fair (on the way there took some lovely photos of Hadfield). Apparently they used to grow plums there years ago and the fair is to celebrate the harvest. They have a plum pie competition, live music, small fairground rides, a human fruit machine (this consist of 3 men wearing aprons with various pieces of fruit in the pocket at the front, you pull one of their arms and then they scrbble around in their aprons and all pull out a piece of fruit, the rest is the same as a conventional fruit machine). They also have craft and charity stalls, and best of all............... a beer tent. It was great fun and the weather was very kind to us, it was a beautiful late summers day! The day ends with a coal race up a road called Redgates. This consists of men in various states of inebriation running up a 50 degree hill for about 150 yards carrying a 25 kg bag of coal on their backs...very strange but fun to watch.

  • In the beginning!

Hi all, decided to create this blog at the suggestion of my friend Cathy so that you can keep up with what this madcap family are doing without being subjected to my long drawn out, boring e-mails. Those of you who know me well will know that my computer skills are limited to say the least, but hopefully i'll learn more and make things a bit more interesting as we go along. The main thing in our life at the moment is our house refurbishment. We're not quite sure at the moment when this will start, either just before or just after Christmas. So at the moment we are in the process of stripping wallpaper off walls and sorting thorough clothes, toys etc to see what can be got rid of. When (or if) the rain stops i'll take some pictures of the house in it's current state and then as we progress. Can't wait to have two toilets (how sad is that)!!
